This might be a silly concern, but...........

I have a friend in cuba, today is his birthday. I would love to call him, but I am scared to do it. I know this sounds silly, but I am an american who is not supposed to know anyone in Cuba (how would I....I've never been there *ahem ahem*). I know it's not illegal to call cuba, if it's even possible to do from american phones (stupid bullshit). I know it's not illegal for me to know people there. What I don't know is if our government is going to screen calls to cuba, if they are going to put me on a watch list because I have friends there, if they are even going to let me make the call or if the phone will just explode in my hands. I know this sounds somewhat rediculous, but I can't help but to be afraid of what Big Brother will do if they know I am friends with the enemy. Any thoughts?

    know your rights, be descreet about your relationship to cuba, but you are free to call as far as Im concerned. I call there every week for the past 3 years. the government is too busy to care about a birthday call-
    check out nobelcom.com their rates arent the cheapest but they work well and clearly about 95 percent of the time- other cards to cuba will rip you off garanteed....

      Jeeesus! I'm Canadian, so I can call left and right if I want, but I don't, but that's not the point.
      It's just that it strikes me as odd, as in which government is worse? Yours or theirs? Anyway, something tells me that they've got "bigger fish to fry" than black-listing you for your phone call. I say call away!!!!

      (I know this post doesn't really pertain to me, but it aggravates me to see what kind of retard world we live in)

        You and me both, people are pretty freaking retarded most of the time. Luckily there is enough going on in the world that I can usually ignore the idiots and all their attempts to round up more idiots.
