Hi Folks!
I joined this tribe with the intention of learning more about the history and people of Cuba.
I am especially interested in information about a city in the Provence of Holguin, named Dobales. This happens to be my surname. There aren't very many of us Dobales's that exist outside of California.
So far, I have only been able to find where the City is located...but no history on it. I am hoping that someone has info or can at least point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Dobales, Cuba (Provence of Holguin)
Mon, January 8, 2007 - 6:06 PMJulie, after some failed attempts, Dobales gave up trying to become a city and most people fled to Amancio, a flourishing Sugar Can Mill on the other side of the mountain where the soil was richer in Potassium and Hidrogen, key components for sugar cane and mango harvests. Try Central Dovales o caserio Dobales, there might be a few dwellers left. -
